In 2016, GCT in Weingarten has coated approx. 1.2 million tools with their unique MicroSpeed multilayer diamond coating process. Herewith we achieve a growth in sales of 24% compared to the previous year.
Diamond coated drills and end mills for machining IMS were the most important sales and growth factors. In particular diamond coated drills growth over 50%.
With over 150.000 tools, the GCT coating service was responsible for approx. 40% disproportionately high sales increase. These tools are mainly used in the dental industry and for machining of graphite, CFRP, aluminum and copper.
Total growth was possible because of the capacity increase through a 4th CVD diamond coating device installed in August 2016. Therefor GCT invested 30% of the sales turnover. With the existing coating capacity, GCT plans in 2017 further 15% growth.
