GCT GmbH in Weingarten today reported a YoY net sales increase of 32% in 2011. The crucial factor was the world wide great demand for diamond coated drills and routers for the mechanical processing of pcb (IMS) for power electronics. IMS - Insulated Metallic Substrates – are mainly used for LED applications as well as in the automotive and solar technology.
The highest growth rate of 294% was realized with diamond coated 2-flute end mill used particularly for routing of IMS. The non-European sale drops from a share of 72% to 68% due to many new customers in Europe.
